The fifth annual Boyne Bash was a smashing success!  The number of participants continues to grow each year making the fun grow as well.  This year 60 TBirds ventured north to Boyne Mountain enjoying two days of skiing, hot tubbing, relaxing, dining, and dancing.  At least a dozen additional TBirds, that happened to be at Boyne for the weekend,  joined us for dancing and socializing in the Snowflake Lounge.  The weather Gods smiled on us with reasonable temperatures and lots of snow both days:  the only frown being the flat light that goes along with snow falling.

The weekend began with a Friday night pizza party in the Snowflake Lounge complete with lots of pizza, salads and bread sticks.  Dancing to a great DJ made the evening a success.  After a yummy  breakfast (almost too many choices to pick from)on Saturday morning, some of the group downhill skied, some cross country skied, some shopped and some just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.  The afternoon brought après ski time and hot tubbing to relax those sore muscles.  The evening dinner was held in a private room.  A great place for a big group to enjoy each other's company.  Our meal was the fabulous buffet from the Stein Erickson restaurant.  Dan Larsh celebrated his  birthday with the group at our dinner.  After dinner, we headed back up to the Snowflake Lounge for an evening with the band, Root Fusion.  The lounge has a pool table and several TBirds enjoyed playing the game and competing with each other.  Turns out we have several pool sharks among us!  The reigning King and Queen of Pool for the evening were Jim Michon and Kim Paull.  They are very, very good at the game!  We had one dance floor mishap when an overly enthusiastic dancer decided to fall on Judy Deckert.  Hopefully Judy's sore muscles will recover quickly.  Sunday was a repeat of the great breakfast, some skiing and then heading south and back to reality.

Many  thanks to all the great people on the trip.  We had many repeat attendees and several new faces joined us as well.  A special thanks to Jim Michon for all of his assistance.  Plans are already being put into place for an even better event in 2013.  Hope to see everyone back again next year plus many more new people.
