Oh, What a Summer Night... at Doc's Sports Retreat
When
I became a member of the Thunderbirds on May 6, I could not resist hosting a
social party this summer. I knew the
"perfect place" that the club members would enjoy.
Doc's Sports Retreat seems 'to have it all' to unwind on these warm summer days
or evenings. The cool pond, the bubbling waterfalls and the colored decorative
palm trees all give the finishing touches to a real tropical setting.
For your entertainment, there are 100 TVs, game rooms with pinball
machines, billiards, pool and gambling tables.
Bob and Norma McCullaugh were the first members to arrive and before long, the
room was filled with about fifty TBirds. It was so nice to see Renee Zalusky,
Diana Horan, Rick Wallis, Sheryl LeBlanc, my friend Sheryl Matthews, and so many
others.
There was a big selection of food and to choose from on the menu..and Wow, half
off on all drinks and appetizers!
The service was good and attentive too.
The ducks seem to have their own party babbling around on the pond..maybe it was
from the rockin’ tunes the band Fifty Amp Fuse played that made the ducks move
and groove on the water. The
Thunderbirds did their own moovin' and groovin' to the beat of Fifty Amp Fuse as
well.
As the evening wore on, we rocked and danced the night away. Everyone seemed to
have a good time. After all, the
TBird Ski Club is where friends and fun come together.
