Fellow TBirds and a few members of Ski & Tees traveled to Park City, Utah, to enjoy a week of skiing at four different resorts.  With free skiing available the day of arrival, many got out to the slopes soon after landing in Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon, and skied at the Canyons and Park City Resort.  What a great deal!!

Weather was sunny and conditions were fairly good for skiing, considering the west has been lacking in snow this year.  The sparse snow did not stop the group, with two days at Deer Valley, two days at Park City Resort, and a side trip for the day to Solitude.  Apparently an 11” snow dump happened as we left town in the wee hours of the following Saturday!

Thankfully only one individual was injured on the trip, Don Shelley from Ski & Tees dislocated his shoulder at Solitude.  The first aid station was able to set the shoulder in place, and Don was able to lift his arm enough to enjoy the company of everyone for the rest of the trip.  Hope you’re doing well, Don.

The hot tub was filled everyday after skiing with those of us looking to soothe our muscles after hitting the slopes.  The weather co-operated in that respect as well, sunny days and a nice secluded outdoor area to relax.

All 32 individuals enjoyed the club dinner at Cicero’s Italian Restaurant in Park City.  With white tablecloths and napkins on the table, and individual selections from the menu, the staff was more than accommodating and treated us all well.  It was a night to remember with good food, drink and friends.

The Yarrow Hotel could not have been more accommodating in making sure the T-Birds and other ski groups there had an enjoyable stay, from the Super Bowl party Sunday in the lounge, to the great breakfast buffet set out bright and early each morning of our stay.  Our farewell get together in front of the fireplace on Friday was interrupted; however the manager was kind enough to open up a private event room for our group.  Lots of memories and new friends made, good skiing and super bus drivers got us all back to airport in good time for the flight home to Detroit.  Thanks everyone, it was great.
