Twenty-nine
TBirds and friends came out to watch
Miller’s 62nd movie,
“Like There’s No Tomorrow”
at the Royal Oak Theatre this year.
I will never tire of this
event as a way to get geeked for the ski season with a bunch of
friends from our fine club!
Once again, we met at
Sangria’s Tapas Lounge
in downtown Royal Oak for a cocktail, some good food and the
ticket distribution.
Then we were off right across 4th
Avenue to the theater.
The typical tons of ski-related
vendor displays were set up in the lobby, including a nice table
supporting the MDSC and TBird tri-fold distribution by our own
Evelyn Fitzgerald.
Evelyn thank you for your
efforts to spread the word about the TBirds!
I never tire of the variety of
places Warren Miller includes in his films.
This year’s wildest location
was Kashmir, India.
And, Darren Rahlves has gone
pretty extreme with his Bonzai Series of downhill racing.
One of the big door prize winners was
our own TBird, Diane Bickerstaff, who won a family season pass
to The Otsego Club.
Congratulations!
After the movie, we had a change of
pace from previous years and went to the
Lockhart’s BBQ.
Good move!
Everyone enjoyed the Michigan
craft beers and the really tasty and Kansas City style BBQ menu
there.
Of course there was lots of
talk about the movie and the upcoming ski season.
Congratulations go out to all
of the participants as winners of a prize!
One of the perks of the ticket
purchase was a download coupon for one of Warren’s classic
movies from 1975, “There
Comes a Time”……….yes, back to days of neon-colored outfits
and ski hats instead of helmets!!
Once again, it was always my pleasure
to host this event, seeing old friends and making new ones.
A hearty “Thank you” goes out to all that participated and enjoyed this fun
night.
PS……..Watch for
Lockhart’s BBQ
to
certainly be a stop on the club’s Social schedule this spring or
summer!
Be sure to join us on their
outdoor patio!!
.............LET’S GO SKIING!!!!!................
